theHunter: Call of the Wild rare fur types are one of the toughest hunting challenges for players with over 570 unique animal fur combinations. With each animal having a different number of furs though it can be difficult to know what is missing from your collection without a reference chart of all rare fur types in COTW. This challenge is further complicated by gender fur differences and some variations only having a 0.03% chance to spawn which means that many fur types go unseen by the average player.
With this chart of all fur types you’ll find an invaluable resource split by animal and map type that is designed for quick identification of each fur rarity across common, uncommon, rare and very rare variants. This can be useful for your personal hunting endeavours to acquire impressive fur trophies for your lodge or an important reference for game missions that require specific fur rarities. These charts are based on the community verified data and layered with my experience over hundreds of hours on rare fur hunts to ensure it is accurate and concise. While actively hunting a specific fur type I also recommend that players use the Disturbed Vegetation and Track Knowledge skills as these will identify a fur type for an animal you are tracking.
Table of Contents: – Hirschfelden Hunting Reserve – Layton Lake District – Medved-Taiga National Park – Vurhonga Savanna – Parque Fernando – Yukon Valley – Cuatro Colinas Game Reserve – Silver Ridge Peaks – Te Awaroa National Park – Rancho del Arroyo – Mississippi Acres Preserve – Revontuli Coast – New England Mountains – Emerald Coast – Sundarpatan
theHunter: Call of the Wild fur types list below is split into the different game reserves with the colours that are available for each animal. The odds are common (>10%), uncommon (1% – 10%), rare (0.1% to 1%) and very rare (below 0.1%) that result in a hunt that is comparable to the diamond trophy hunt. For players that don’t mind referring to data obtained from within the game files for exact percentages you can refer to the articles section of this game mod. Where a colour is specific to a particular species gender it is marked with male (M), female (F) or Great One (GO).

theHunter: Call of the Wild was Sam’s first trek into the hunting genre after acquiring the game for free during an Epic Games promotion. Impressed by the realism of the experience he has since explored all of the reserves to unlock everything that this vast adventure has to offer and now considers himself a master of the wilderness after hundreds of successful money making hunts. Now a veteran tracker Sam is currently attempting to achieve all the diamond trophies in Call of the Wild from small to large targets one map at a time.
In a nutshell the rare furs are Albino, Melanistic, Piebald, Crested (Wildebeast only), Spirit (Brown Bears only) and Leucistic (sp?). Mule deer have two kinds of Piebalds. One is mostly dark brown with patches of lighter brown and the other is the conventional patchwork of white and brown. Good Luck and Good Hunting!
The best way to earn cash in this game is to Canada Goose hunt. For this you will need the Wild Goose Chase Gear DLC to access goose decoys and a proper groundblind. If you do not have this DLC, then you can go to a multiplayer server and hunt Pumas or Mountain Lions.
Great Ones are extremely rare. While only about 1% of animals have a "Diamond" rating and it can take a player hundreds of hours to spot one of these (because they are not only rare but also much more elusive), Great Ones are even more difficult to find and only few players will ever see one.
Sable is extremely rare and extravagantly expensive. There are two types of sable: Russian, which is typically brown with a little bit of a silver sheen, and Canadian, usually found in gold and amber tones. Canadian sable is slightly less expensive than Russian sable, but both types of sable are extremely luxurious.
Roe Deer are found on Hirschfelden and Cuatro Colinas. To find a piebald roe deer, or more generally a rare fur type, you will have to likely kill a lot of them because rare fur have a low spawn rate.
Previously found from northern Vietnam in the south to the Russian Far East in the north, it is now uncommon in these areas, excluding Japan, where the species is overabundant.
Virant .22LR is the best rifle in theHunter: Call of the Wild, and tremendously accurate at killing smaller creatures. Players can hit consecutive shots with the Virant .
Dragonflies have the highest observed hunting success of any animal, with success rates as high as 97%. They are also opportunistic and pursue a variety of prey. Predatory performance may have consequences in terms of energetics, mortality and potential loss of feeding or mating territories.
Mississippi Acres Preserve is a damp destination that is covered with swamps. It is one of the best wildlife reserves in theHunter: Call of the Wild for hunting the American Alligator. These reptiles can be found swimming in the swamps and patiently waiting for their prey on river beds.
There is a chance you can just randomly run into one, the same with the diamonds. From what I've seen, there is no set number of kills to get one to spawn. People just start killing all of the high level males and keep farming them in the hopes one bumps to a level higher & spawns a Great One.
